Hi - I had a chance to try the E-P1 couresy of then Olympus Photo Safari Group.

I love it - I'm a journalist/analyst and it would be even better than my e330 with 25mm pancake lens for travelling, blogging, conference reporting etc.

It'll complement rather than replace my E3 though - and I'm afraid I'll wait until the "early adopter" prenium drops before I buy.... ::)

Hi everybody!

I got the E-P1 yesterday and still getting to know it. Used to own an E-510. Currently also using A350 and 50D, so the smaller size is quite refreshing.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!

Awaiting my E-P1 kit with 17mm pancake lens in Northern California. Hopefully to arrive in mid-July!
I can't wait! I'm disappointed that the kit with the 14-42 lens is already shipping and I'm on pins and needles.

Hi, have one for a few weeks. So far so good, though given the heat the temperature warning popped up within 15 mins of usage! Will be good to see how it performs over the next few weeks. Have put up two slideshows with photos and videos thus far:

You can see my morning excitement when the EP1 arrived here :)

And a selection of videos and photos taken on it this afternoon here around the grounds of Newark abbey:

Hallo Everyone,

I preordered the Pen 10 days ago for use alongside my "big" Canon SLR.

Can't wait to try it out!

Hello everyone!

I'm mostly a film guy, currently with only one digital camera in operation which is Panny G1 (iPhone 3GS aside ;)). I shoot with OM-1, Nikon F3, Yashica TLR, Rollei 35 and many other film cameras.

E-P1 with 17mm preordered (Amazon), and planning on rolling my beloved OM Zuiko lens with Oly's adapter.  ;D

Hopefully Oly ships 17mm kit soon...

Nice meeting with you all!

Hi:

I'm just another average Joe, who wanted something better than a P&S. I tried an Ultrazoom (Nikon Coolpix P-80), but was very disappointed with the image quality, especially at full zoom. I loathe to carry a dSLR because of the size, because while I want to 'be a photographer' my shots are usually during travel.

So I ordered the Oly E-620 in early June. I was impressed by the small size, smaller that the Nikon D50 I used to have, but it was still a tad big to take along on hikes and climbs. Then I heard about the E-P1. I am glad I bought it from Amazon.com, which has a good return policy and excellent service.

I have pre-ordered the 14-42 kit from Amazon, as well as the 17mm lens and the flash. Can't wait to lay my hands on it. I am going on a trip on 7 August, and I hope it arrives before that.

Hey there everyone.  I'm an avid amateur photographer who is looking to upgrade from a well appointed Point&Shoot (Canon PowerShot s-70).  The e-P1 pretty much seems to embody all the items i've been looking for in a new camera.  Until it was released I was looking into the e-620 from Olympus... but the e-P1 seems to eclipse it in most every category that is meaningful to me:

Size
weight
Attachable lenses
SLR sized sensor

I'm from Colorado and as such end up taking heaps and heaps of landscape pictures.  I'm looking forward to the new cam!

Hi everyone,

I'm Michael in the Florida Panhandle.  I'm a historian and writer, have been in photography 30 years plus, for a while semi-professionally (e.g. I only made part of my living doing that).  I'm now waiting for my E-P1 -- it was mailed today from BH.  I'm looking forward immensely to using it, especially since I have a bunch of OM legacy lens from my film days.

I had a Nikon D40x that I recently gave to my daughter and have since been using a G10, and I expect the E-P1 to replace both.

I am also quite interested in the history of photography and am considering starting a blog on that.

I'm a photo enthusiast waiting for a compact and discreet digital camera offering high image quality for years. Thank you Olympus for developing the E-P1.

And thank you voyager for this platform.

I hail from the USA near Boston MA. I shoot with Nikon gear both professionally and for fun. I'm hoping this camera is the elusive small alternative I've been waiting for. I'm here to ask questions before I commit (or am committed).

Trained as an economist, working as a diplomat and living for photography, I am now based in New York City, where I await eagerly for the arrival of my silver E-P1 and the 17mm Pancake lens.

Thanks for creating this forum. Looking forward to many learning opportunities.

Hi guys,  I'm an avid amateur photographer and a bit of an Olympus film camera nut.  Own over a dozen or so and have used OM cameras for more then 3 decades.  I've had several digital cameras, but never been satisfied with them, until I recently got my E-P1.  It's perfect.  Small, satisfying, fabulous picture quality and above all, works really well with my large collection of OM lenses. I'm hooked..!!
