Ugliest camera you have owned
« on: September 07, 2010, 10:58:56 AM »
Mine was this little monster - despite it's criminal lack of taste it was actually a very good P&S performer for it's time (c 2000) with a lot of over-rides.

The Canon Digital Rebel, original one. Ugliest thing since the Olympus E-300.

That Nikon 4500 isn’t ugly at all! I had a Nikon E995, which I thought was really nice. I used it like I used my TLR, in many ways. I only stopped using it to move up to a Nikon D50 I couldn’t really afford at the time because the E995 after many years of punishment had stopped working on its own batteries, even after the purchase of a pair of new ones (and subsequent loss of one of them). It works if I wire a battery pack of eight NiMH AAs into the external voltage input, but I can’t really walk around with it like that. People would think it was an ugly camera.

SX-70s were pretty ugly, but for awhile everyone had to have one:

You'll need to start a new thread for that.  :)

I thought it was soooo cool and futuristic when I was a teen and bought this. The photos it took were no better than my Mom's old 110 Instamatic that it was replacing. And processing the discs was much more expensive.

Now I realize it's pretty fugly.

I haven't owned any ugly cameras. All of mine were beautiful, IMO. Minolta SRT-100, Pentax Program Plus (that was probably as close to ugly as I got), later Nikon CP900 or 950, then the Canon D30, and now an E-P1 and E-30. Every one of them a beauty. ;)

Everyone says the Canon Digital Rebel XT is the ugliest one, but my original Rebel is definitely the ugliest.

I had for a few months a sony 707 with the swivelling lens, I thought it was dog ugly but it had that night shot as a saving grace.
I find most cameras nice to look at and have somewhat bought cameras based on them not being ugly, apart from the Sony.
