Kind of depressed by the E-P2 black kit intro
« on: August 31, 2010, 06:03:20 AM »
Was hoping that Olympus would announce a Pen with a proper builti VF around E-P2 price. The black E-p2 kit seems to point away from that. If they brought out a camera with internal vf it would probably cost even more than this setup. If they brought out a less expensive one with vf (don't think people moving from P&S even care about this) it would probably leave out some important feature. Makes it a no starter for me either way.

thanks

They still might have a new camera coming at Photokina.

and those two lenses were disappointing as hell too...
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Olympus is facing some stiff competition from Sony NEX
Sony is running a special now - You can get a NEX-3 with the 18-55 and 16mm pancake for $699 USD.  Same deal for the NEX-5 except for $799 USD.  Both the NEX-3 and 5 have flash included.

This E-P2 "Special" costs more than the NEX deals and it has one less lens...

Know what you mean Panther. This, is why I have always said Olympus won't be the leader (sales) in mirrorless cameras 3-5 years from now. They could build the best cameras on the planet but will get out marketed as they always have. My guess is Canon or Nikon will rule once their mirrorless designs hit. Wild card could be Sony. They aren't so far behind marketing wise, as they were with DSLRs.
thanks

Seems Olympus keeps covering the same 14-42 & 40-150 lens territory over and over again? Geez. How many versions do we need?
