wow those takumars sound wonderful , the only pentaxs im using on the ep1 are the auto 110s

i use the 3 most common ones an 18 a 24 and a 50 and a second fifty that is permanantly extension 'tubed" as a "macro" giving about 1:2 , without infinity focus , the rest infinity focus fine , they are all sharp and contrasty and most importantly tiny as well , they look cool on the ep1 and the gf1 i especially like the 18 which i only got a bout 2 weeeks ago, its really a great lens

You could pick up everything that I listed above, and a couple of M42 adapters, for about $350, and that would provide a whole lot of fun. You could certainly get started with an M42 adapter and a lens for $100 (plus it opens up the world of other M42 lenses for you).  The trick is to not be a "collector" and settle for lenses that work fine but might not be cosmetically perfect; the collectors want the perfect lenses. Send me a PM if you are interested in some purchasing tips heh. The 135 and the 35  and especially the 55mm f/1.8  are particular affordable. I've seen the 55mm go for $20. There are a few sizes that are sought after by collectors are cost a lot more, the rare 20mm, the 24mm, and the fast versions of the 85mm and 100mm are very expensive. (but not as useful on the MFT cameras, get the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 for the price of the wides, it is a better lens, and the 100mm is a good portrait on a 35mm, but not good on MFT anyway).

I just got my e-p1 yesterday. So I do not have a lot of lens for it, but I am using an EF adapter to use my Canon lens on it.

My e-p1 w/ Canon EF 135mm

Maybe it would be more useful to compile a database, with charts, of the µ4/3 and adapted glass we've all started to collect, just like my friends in Spain are doing:

1) For 4/3 and µ4/3 glass:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/la_bodeguilla/discuss/72157603786017308/

2) For other adapted glass:

I wish that the article was in English for us English speaking people

My smallest lens on the E-P2 is the Pentax 25mm f/1.4.  I'll post some pictures from it later :)

I bought mine from here, C-adapter included:  (This adapter is about the size of a step-up ring !

wow..the 25mm looks interesting. How much did you purchase it for? I do not see a price on the link you provided.

Can you comment on the image quality of it as well?

The pricelist is another section of the website:

http://www.chiifcameras.com/site2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8&Itemid=8

It's about USD 235 (includes adapter).

Sharp wide open, no doubt.  Vignette is maximum at wide aperture, and gets smaller as one steps down.  Corners are blurred (distorted).  When 6x6, no such anomalies.

Contrasty in daylight, just right at night.  I am still finding words for the color tone, slightly off accurate.

Good bokeh, especially at minimum distance at f/1.4.

Basically, this lens is like an art filter :).   Will post some sample pics soon.

Thanks Admin for creating a dedicated section to show a gallery of lens samples.
(I witnessed he was creating it and moving some old threads to it when I was online last night)
It will serve a great resource to see how different new, old, classic, antique, rare-to-find, impossible-to-reach lenses perform with Digital PEN / mFT.

Good work!

just got the hexanon 57 f 1.2 in Konica ar mount , its front element  is massive when compared to my 50 1.5 V\C nokton and the konica probably weighs double , ive tested its sharpness on the ep1 without yet having the adapter and
its really good , much better than i expected a lens this fast to be

although its heavy and large i expect it to balance well on the ep1 because its really no longer than my 85 1.8 nikon
and just a bit heavier

after looking at some quick sharpness tests and seeing such good results ,  i did a look see on the internet for this lens reviews or a comments thread , apparently its considered one of the best 1.2 lenses in its class, by many folks and reviewers , who am i to disagree?

I'm afraid with our current software something like that isn't possible.

But I will say that it's not impossible that it will be added.
