Holes in the Micro Four Thirds lens coverage
« on: September 05, 2010, 06:13:25 PM »
We're missing a wide angle prime, a telephoto prime, and an extended standard range zoom. Can you think of anything else that needs to be added?

We do have a wide angle prime - the 17/2.8. It's not UWA however.
We are missing a fast telephoto zoom also. A 35-100 F/2 or 20-150 F/2.8 would be quite handy. As would be 75-300, but not F/6.7 for $900  >:( >:( >:( >:(

17mm (34mm equiv.) is not very wide. I'd say you could go down to 12mm (24mm equiv.) without calling it ultra wide. Maybe 14mm (28mm equiv.) if you want to be cheap(er).

Personally I think the "holes" are the the lack of fast primes, pancake or not. I'd like to see faster than f/2.0, preferable f/1.4.

Also I wouldn't mind a fast standard zoom, say a native micro version of the 14-35mm f2.0 would do (even better if it starts from 12mm...)

Personally don't think they even have enough lenses to have "holes" in the lineup.
thanks
