I've been wondering what photos from this lens look like. I love the first one. Did you use the Olympus adapter for that?

Yes, it's the Olympus adapter. But the Panasonic seems to be identical, except för the paint.

I like the second more - the guy on the Vespa rocks  ;D
How long does it take for the lens to focus on E-P1?

Adash it's a Lambretta and in this case it would be best to prefocus. But I actually did autofocus on the scooter while it approached the ramp. It worked, as the scooters didn't travel very fast at all.

I snapped this door today while I was waiting for my daughter to finish dawdling at a bead shop. This was directly across the street about 10/12 feet away and I used my G1 with Oly 4/3, 40-150mm at the widest end.

I thought the in-lens gizmos took care of barrel, etc?
(and no, the door wasn't like that already....)

Thanks for moving that Voyager - wasn't sure where it should go.

Slight problem in that its in the wrong lens archive - it was taken with a Zuiko 4/3 40-150mm.

Also the link in your post on the home page gave me this error:

After the extreme barrel distortion in the other pic (which is also visible at other focal lengths) even more profound is a couple of shots taken with my CV 90 MM and the Oly lens at about the same length setting. The green cast on the Oly pics - is, well, staggering and no easy job to correct in Photoshop (I've had to do a JPG squeeze it to attach):

I wonder what causes that green cast.

I wonder what causes that green cast.

No idea - it was a dull day so perhaps the coating had some influence, or the G1 doesn't like an Oly lens....

Will try some tests with the E-P1 tomorrow if the light is similar - although that won't shift the barrel problem per se.

I think it might be the G1 causing the problem since it's been recently discussed that both of the brands don't mesh with each other as well as we used to think they did.

I think it might be the G1 causing the problem

Took some shots with it on the E-P1 today - same problems; uncorrected barrel distortion and green/yellow bias.

The colour bias I can live with but the distortion is a no-no given the amount of buildings I shoot.

I find that strange, I suppose the other people who I've seen photos from this lens could have used a lot of post processing (and probably did) though.

This is the barrel distortion at 40mm on the E-P1 (portrait is worse)

Would be possible to apply a profile for it in software which supports it, but I have no experience myself.

So far I really dig the 40-150, it focuses faster than the 14-42, and a lot less blur. So far here is my personal unscientific rating:

14mm  :) :)
14-42mm :(
40-150mm  :) :) :)
70-300mm  :) :) :) :)

More samples.  Indoor, no flash, high speed probably 1/300th or faster.  Most were taking at ISO1600 and above.
