This lens also matches the E-P1 pretty well. Thank you for creating all of these new threads! They are very nice and well organized, a great addition to our Lens Sample Photo Archive! The bokeh on this one is my favorite.

Thanks!
I'll add the 17mm, 20mm, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm and 85mm later.

I used this setup for some wedding video last week and it looks much beter than my Sony SR11 camcorder! The DOF is awesome!

Hi All,
About to hit the streets tomorrow with the equivalent of a 100mm f1.4 lens. Combined on the EP-1 it looks sorta like "eye candy".

Going to move this to lenses for now. If you'd like to put some samples in this thread, I'll move it to the Archive. Thank you!

i love the 50 fast manual focus goodness on micro fourthirds , it a great benefit of micro 4\3 tphave a 100mm equiv  1.4 fromthe many makers of lenses out there , when i tell someone about m 43 for the first time i invariably telll them about a fast 50 manual as one of the great perks of the mount   alpmg witht the plentitude of other manual glass from the 4 corners of the earth 8)

I love the 50mm, sadly I can only afford the 1.8 but it still rocks in a big way..get some samples up when you can man.

Little update on this, I've literally just bought myself one off ebay for £40 - bit of a bargain me thinks. I'll get some shots up when I can.

There's a woman in my Flickr group who's used a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 with her E-PL1 with stunning results  8)

I use an Olympus 1.4 50mm I found at a swap meet for $16. Nice heavy piece of glass. Being it's a 100mm (35mm equivalent), does this literally mean that I am shooting at 100mm size? It's seems I am too close to everything.

It does Lorenski yes, you need a lot of backing up space when you're rolling with the 50 milly.

Mine just arrived, I've added a few shots. I'm generally happy with this thing, it's slightly bigger than my f1.8 but that doesn't matter. I reckon the f1.8 won't see much action now that I've got this.

taken in my dining room where it's quite dark.

That is a nice feature about it, it allows in way way more light. Without a functional view finder, it is a much harder to focus precisionally though. You have to get lucky, unless you are far away enough and can dial into infinity setting. I leave my setting on Auto for seemingly more consistant results.

the great thing about the 50`s on m 4\3 is its a great  focal length
for a portrait, or a subject of any kind that about the "size" of a head and shoulders shot it puts you a good distance away

it a super fast "short" telephoto enjoy it for what it can do for you , happy new yr  all :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Just got this lens yesterday for a steal ($40...focus ring was jammed, but I fixed it and it works beautifully now).  Perhaps the best all around 50mm lens I've ever used, and I've owned at least 15 of them.  Very sharp wide open and razor sharp from f/2 on.

Some shots from today:
Some real world shots from today.  It's definitely a very, very good lens.
